- 1 loaf French bread cut into cubes
- 8 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Topping
- ½ cup flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup butter cold, cut into pieces
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
3. Place bread cubes in the baking dish and pour the egg mixture over the bread. Press down to ensure all the bread is soaked.
4. In another bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over the soaked bread.
5. Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and the center is set.
6. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
