  • 4 medium potatoes peeled and grated
  • 1 small onion grated
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil for frying

Instructions 

  1. 1. Peel and grate the potatoes and onion. Place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. 2. Add the flour, beaten egg, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix well.
  3. 3. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. 4. Scoop about ¼ cup of the potato mixture and place it in the pan. Flatten it with a spatula.
  5. 5. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
  6. 6. Serve hot with applesauce or sour cream.
