Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
In another bowl, beat butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and molasses, and mix well.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in remaining sugar. Place on baking sheet.
Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are set. Cool on wire rack.
