Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, warm water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each into a ball.
  3. Flatten each ball into a thick disk, about ½ inch thick.
  4. Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat. Cook each gordita for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Once cooked, slice open and fill with your favorite fillings.
