Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups Basmati rice rinsed
  • 1 cup Mixed vegetables chopped (carrots, peas, beans)
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 inch Ginger minced
  • 2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 3 cups Water

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. 3. Add sliced onions, minced garlic, and ginger. Sauté until onions are golden brown.
  4. 4. Add mixed vegetables and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. 5. Add rinsed basmati rice, garam masala, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
  6. 6. Pour in water and bring to a boil.
  7. 7. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
  8. 8. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
