Main Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ¾ cups buttermilk
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Make a well in the center and pour in the buttermilk. Stir until a soft dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead lightly. Shape into a round loaf.
Place the loaf on the prepared baking sheet. Cut a deep cross on top of the dough.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the bread is golden and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Let cool on a wire rack before slicing.
