  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Anise seeds
  • 1 cup Milk warm
  • 2 tablespoon Butter melted
  • 2 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Add melted butter, anise seeds, and salt to the mixture. Stir well.
  3. 3. Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms.
  4. 4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it on a baking sheet.
  7. 7. Bake for 30 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  8. 8. Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
