Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk warmed
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 3 eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup colored sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Add the warm milk and melted butter. Mix well.
  3. Beat in the eggs, salt, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the remaining flour to form a soft dough.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes.
  6. Place the dough in a greased bowl, turning once to grease the top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Divide the dough into three pieces. Roll each piece into a 16-inch rope. Braid the ropes together and form into a ring, pinching the ends to seal.
  9. Place the braid on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
  10. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
  11. Decorate with colored sprinkles before serving.
