Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
  • 12 oz Rigatoni pasta
  • 1 Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 can Crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon Red pepper flakes optional
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese grated, for serving

Instructions 

  1. 1. Cook the rigatoni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. 3. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
  5. 5. Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. Simmer for 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. 6. Toss the cooked rigatoni with the sausage and tomato sauce. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
