Italian Sausage Lasagna Recipe

- 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
- 9 lasagna noodles uncooked
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated
- 1 jar marinara sauce (24 oz)
- 1 egg lightly beaten
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and half of the Parmesan cheese.
Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread ⅓ of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then ⅓ of the sausage, and ⅓ of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers twice more, ending with mozzarella cheese.
Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
