Ingredients

  • 1 head Cabbage large
  • 1 lb Italian Sausage ground
  • 1 cup Cooked Rice
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 can Tomato Sauce 15 oz
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully remove the core from the cabbage and place the whole head in the boiling water. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the outer leaves are tender. Remove the cabbage and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground Italian sausage, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix well.
  4. Carefully peel off the cabbage leaves. Place about ¼ cup of the sausage mixture in the center of each leaf. Fold in the sides and roll up the leaf to enclose the filling.
  5. Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in a baking dish. Pour the tomato sauce over the rolls.
  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 60 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy!
