Pasta Sauce with Italian Sausage

Main Ingredients
- 1 lb Italian sausage casings removed
- 1 medium onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
1. In a large skillet, cook the Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, add the diced onion and cook until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
3. Return the sausage to the skillet. Add the crushed tomatoes, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
4. Simmer the sauce for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve over your favorite pasta.
