Pinto Beans with Mexican Style Seasonings
A hearty and flavorful pinto beans recipe with Mexican style seasonings.

Main Ingredients
- 2 cups Pinto beans dried
- 1 medium Onion chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Oregano
- 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
- 6 cups Water
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
1. Rinse and sort the pinto beans. Soak them in water overnight.
2. Drain and rinse the beans. Set aside.
3. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.
4. Add the pinto beans, water, cumin, chili powder, oregano, and salt to the pot. Stir well.
5. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 60 minutes, or until the beans are tender.
6. Adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve warm.
