1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until smooth.
3. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
4. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
5. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll or stretch the dough into a round or square shape and place on a baking sheet.
6. Add your favorite toppings and bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly.
