1. In a small bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the top, and let stand for about 10 minutes, until foamy.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center, and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until dough comes together.
3. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, and turn to coat the surface. Cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
4. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C). Punch down the dough, and turn it out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll or stretch the dough into a round or rectangle, and place on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
5. Add your favorite toppings and bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
