Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg beaten

Instructions 

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. 2. Dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Add yeast mixture and knead until smooth.
  4. 4. Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and shape into a pretzel.
  5. 5. Place pretzels on a baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg.
  6. 6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
