Ingredients 

Masa

  • 4 cups Masa harina
  • 2.5 cups Chicken broth
  • 1 cup Lard
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Filling

  • 2 cups Shredded chicken
  • 1 cup Salsa verde
  • 24 pieces Corn husks soaked in water

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large bowl, mix masa harina, baking powder, and salt.
  2. 2. Add chicken broth and lard. Mix until dough is smooth.
  3. 3. Spread masa dough onto soaked corn husks.
  4. 4. Add shredded chicken and salsa verde in the center of the masa.
  5. 5. Fold the sides of the husks and tie the ends.
  6. 6. Steam tamales for about 1.5 to 2 hours.
