Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ¼ cup cold water for cornstarch slurry

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, ¼ cup water, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Whisk together.
  2. 2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. 3. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with ¼ cup cold water to create a slurry.
  4. 4. Slowly add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens.
  5. 5. Remove from heat and let cool. Use as a marinade or sauce as desired.
