Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoon Active dry yeast
  • 1.5 cups Warm water
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. 2. Add salt, oil, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture. Stir until smooth.
  3. 3. Gradually add the remaining flour, ½ cup at a time, until the dough is soft and no longer sticky.
  4. 4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. 5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. 6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. 7. Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes, or until doubled.
  8. 8. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. 9. Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
