Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ½ cup vodka
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions 

  1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, cook for another minute.
  3. Pour in vodka and let it simmer until reduced by half, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and stir well. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and let it cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Add grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh basil. Serve over your favorite pasta.
