Ingredients

Dough Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Warm water about 110°F
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast 2 ¼ teaspoons
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. 2. Add the flour, olive oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until the dough starts to come together.
  3. 3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. 4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. 5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  6. 6. Punch down the dough and divide it into 2-4 equal pieces, depending on the size of pizzas or calzones you want to make.
  7. 7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Add your favorite toppings or fillings.
  8. 8. Bake on a baking sheet or pizza stone for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
